NCsoft has licensed Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3 for two upcoming MMO titles, citing the technology’s “well structured rendering pipeline, and its graphical quality” as key reasons for the acquisition.

No further details were made available on the upcoming MMOs, though presumably they’re still a long ways off if NCsoft is just now signing engine licenses.

Epic, for its part, seems absolutely ecstatic to be working with NCsoft.

“NCsoft pioneered online game development using Unreal Engine,” said Epic’s vice president Jay Wilbur. “We are thrilled to take this next step with NCsoft, and are fully committed to supporting their projects.”
